Online Drama Queens

Social networking…a tool designed to help connect people throughout the world, is now being used to bitch and moan. People post, for everyone to see, how badly they feel and in turn, expect us to feel bad for them. Sometimes they will even get some sympathy through a sappy response (typically something like, “awwww”). However, if the response turns into “what’s wrong?!” don’t be surprised to find that the original drama queen deleted the post.

Clearly these people are starving for attention. They can’t go a week without trying to make someone feel bad for you in hopes of getting some kind of sympathy. Even further, they are ignorant to the fact that the people giving the sympathy are starving for just as much attention! Finally - in reality, nobody gives a f*ck if you are “not feeling yourself” or “just want to runaway.”

Question for the drama queen: is your life really that bad? No. You want it to be perceived that way for some strange reason. I’m sure that will help you make friends and find that “one special person.” Complaining about your sad and pathetic life really makes you look like “a fun person that enjoys life to the fullest,” which is more or less what you have in that little box under your profile picture. I mean, give me a f*ckin’ break. Your just aiding in your own demise - nobody wants to talk to a downer.

As you know, we here at GOY stand for actually LIVING a life. This means, if you hate life that much, get off of facebook/myspace/twatter and actually do something about it! Oh yeah…and GET OVER YOURSELF!
