Get Over Yourself!

Ever plan a party, or some kind of fun gathering with friends? Of course you have…unless you have no life and live on the internet with your cyber friends. Anyway, odds are, you’ve asked for an RSVP of some sort. Perhaps you asked for an RSVP by phone, maybe a facebook event, or an evite. There are consistent friends who will RSVP immediately, others that will have to take some time to decide, but will RSVP, and then there are those who just won’t RSVP - even though they were made aware of the requested RSVP.

So what’s the deal, asshole? What is the issue here? Is it that difficult to pick up the phone, send a text - “yes” or “no” OR, even easier - click a button?! Is it that you feel that you are “above the law” and can do whatever the f*ck you want and everyone will just be glad that you showed your face? In all honesty, you get into the habit of doing it so much that the rest of us would rather not you even come. Why? Because once you get here, someone will bring up the fact that we didn’t know whether or not you would be attending. And then, your response will be one of the following:

1) Blatantly LIE and say that you didn’t get the invitation. That’s good, just be a complete asshole - we know you got it!

2) Explain that you just don’t check your messages that often (stretch of a lie) and that we should all just know that you are coming. I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that we were f*cking mind readers. Ya know what? Next time we won’t even invite you and assume that you read our minds and will know when/where/what we are doing.

3) Finally - you are just so pompous that you kind of blow it off. If this is you - odds are you probably just won’t be invited next time.

Honestly - what is the problem? What makes you think that you, over everyone else, don’t need to respond? Are you a rock star? I’m guessing no. So stop acting like one. Here at GOY, we can’t stand assholes, and if you can’t respond to a simple question to be courteous to a FRIEND, then you need to GET OVER YOURSELF!!!
