New Jersey & New York Drivers

On my way to work this morning, I noticed a large amount of assholes on the road. And of course, all of them were from one of two states - New York or New Jersey. Other than the license plates, there are other ways to tell that these drivers are indeed from the garden or empire state. Let’s take a look:

1) They refuse to move out of the right lane as they approach an on ramp. It is apparently their prerogative to force anyone attempting to enter the highway to SLAM on their f*cking brakes, causing a chain reaction of pissed off drivers trying to get to work in the morning. The wait to enter the highway can now be anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes (yes, I’ve experienced a 5 minute wait…it’s tempting to just leave your car).

2) On the highway, these jerks don’t believe in turn signals. They think they are so high and mighty that the drivers around them should just assume that they own the road and we should just get out of the way - whether it’s for that split second that they choose to whip in front of you in the right lane to pass someone in the left, or they just decide to get into the left lane for no apparent reason. Gotta love ‘em.

3) Finally - the middle finger. This is the tell-all. New York/New Jersey drivers believe in the middle finger like it’s a religion. It seems as though they think using the finger towards someone else will communicate to them all things necessary to give them free reign of the road. At GOY, we suggest the following response: Smile obnoxiously, make sure they are looking at you, and then wave obnoxiously. This will either confuse the hell out of them or piss them off. Either way - it’s a win.

If you’re from NY/NJ, I’m sorry you have to deal with this on a regular basis - just don’t become an asshole. And to those NY/NJ drivers with no control, we say to you: GET OVER YOURSELF!
